Helicopter Expo 2010

I figured I would let you all in on what I have been doing for the past month. It consists of one thing... A Helicopter Expo! Many of you may be thinking what?? and that was exactly what I thinking when I got a phone call to come help, but what else better did I have to do..So the 1st of February I headed to Dallas, TX to learn as much about helicopters as I could, learn as much French AND German as I could in a 2 weeks ( Oh yes I tried and failed) do press conferences and prepare for the biggest Helicopter Expo there is.. HAI. HAI stands for Helicopter Association International ( that's where the French and German came into play). HAI is hosted all over the world and this year it was hosted in Houston, TX so Eurocopter invited me to assist with this HUGE event, I thought I would be setting up a little booth and talking to a few people. Ha HARDLY when I finally made my way to my office and opened the computer all the information I needed started right up. Um.. little booth HARDLY my ideas of flowers cookies and everything out the window. Budget.. in the millions ( yeah i had to count the zero's!) I was WAY out of my element. Needless to say i eventually figured everything out, learned a little a bit about Helicopters and did meet alot of incredible people.
A few of the pictures from the booth.. The theme was "Bluecopter" thats why everything is blue.

While in Dallas I didn't have alot of free time.. I had one free weekend, that so happened to be the weekend of Valentines Day. Alot of surprises came with that :) So with not being able to plan ahead it was spent at the Mall and a few other tourist"y" things! Didn't take but a few pictures..

Texas Rangers Stadium

AKA... What could have been.. and what almost was..

And then we went to see what could be...... Dallas Cowboys Stadium!

haha and Six Flags.. Also, while in Dallas the weatherman decided that SNOW might be fun. I like Mississippi snow that sometimes sticks.. sometimes doesn't, might get an inch or so..NAH 14 inches in Dallas and to my surprise I still had to go to work, slipping and sliding... they don't teach you how to drive in snow in Drivers Ed ( at least in MS). Yeah.. not a fan! Especially when it took me 2 hours to get home. ( I stayed not even a mile from work)

I loved Houston!! View from my room and just a few of the people I got the pleasure to work with.

Houston Convention Center
Downtown Houston and where the Astro's play. Me and Oliaf ( from Germany)

And since I spent the whole month in Dallas and a week in Houston I didn't get to go to the NFL combine. BUT it went VERY well!! I would share with you all the details but I don't understand them enough to go into all of that.. you know all the official -40 times, arm spread and vertical jumps? As stated before everything went well and the MSU boys did good as well, or I have been told!! They have PRO day coming up in a couple of weeks which I am planning on attending so hopefully I will be able to give you more details and pictures :)

And last but not least... finally getting back to Starkville does have its advantages.. GIRLS NIGHT! Its been a while since I had seen Kristin and some other of our friends so we decided a good girls night was in store.

Until next time...

Next stop NFL combine!!

I'm back blog world! Many of you have been asking what I have been doing.. Well here is a run down of the last 2 months!!
For Christmas Moma and I gave Nana a trip to New Orleans.. Her favorite past time is trips to the casino so we figured Harrah's in New Orleans would be something different!! While on our trip I began to notice Florida football players wandering around.. then it hit me that we were staying in the same hotel as the Florida football team. Well to make a long story short, while some spent their time in the casino I spent all my time with my new found friends..Riley Cooper and Tim Tebow, okay well Tim was very guarded at all times but most of your know Riley and Tim are roomates.. so I got the chance to meet him. Most of you know the whole story so I won't go into details... but here are a few pictures of our time in New Orleans and the Sugar Bowl!!

Shortly after the Sugar Bowl I got a message about going to the Senior Bowl.. not only would I get a chance to see him and Tebow.. but I would get a chance to watch MSU's own Anthony Dixon and Jamar Chaney too!! Of course who wouldn't miss an opportunity like that! So I headed to Mobile for the Senior Bowl Thursday to attend the festivities.. not only was it alot of fun and people everywhere but it was COLD. I enjoyed good food, good company I got to meet alot of new people. The top of order athletes and coaches( head coach for the miami dolphins, Tony Sparano was my favorite).

And last but not least.. over Christmas one of my dearest friends asked me to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming June wedding. Of course I said yes! June is going to be a busy month for me.. Kristin and Lee's wedding June 5th and Leah and Joe's June 26th!

Congrats Leah I am so happy for you and love you both!

Chi O Family Christmas!

One thing that comes with Christmas is traditions, a lot of those are changing this year for me some for the better, and some.. well lets just say are changing!! One that won't ever change will be our Chi O family Christmas!! Amber and I started doing it when it was just the two of us.. now its a lot of us! Even though I am now an Alumnae and Amber goes to the "W" for speech pathology, we still make it a point to all get together for Christmas, Birthdays and other "special occasions". After we all graduate or move away hopefully this will be something that will bring us all back together for years to come!

Alot to be Thankful for..

One of my favorite holidays is Thanksgiving, not only because it means we are closer to Christmas.. but it is a day to spend with family and friends, share funny stories and eat until your heart's content. Following a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and good company Moma, Daddy, and I went to bed early for the start of a weekend full of football. Friday morning we left bright and early and headed to Auburn to watch Josh play in the Iron Bowl! The game didn't go the way we had hoped, but they played hard and it was a VERY EXCITING game!! After the game we met up with the Harris and Josh and heading to Tailgate with even more good food and good company! We told old stories and I don't think I have laughed so hard in all my life. Can't wait until Christmas when we are planning another Harris -Walker get together! But until then we had plenty of laughs and good memories to hold us over! Me and JoshJosh with the Fam :)
Walker- Harris clan!
Josh.. out there somewhere!! # 61!
After getting home in the wee hours of the morning we got up early again to cheer on the Bulldogs in the Egg Bowl!! Talk about a fun game!!! There is nothing better than beating Ole Miss at the end of the season. I am so excited to see what Dan Mullen can do with the Dawgs in years to come!!
Whoo hoo!!

To make a good end to an amazing weekend, I got to stay with my favorite little man, John Davis! Anna Kate was already asleep so JD and I built bridges, Houses, and a Barn all out of blocks. I couldnt keep my eyes open much longer so we started a movie and headed to bed, we watched the planning your trip to Disney World dvd over and over. JD is getting to go to Disney world for his 5th birthday at the end of December so he wanted to show me what all he was going to do while he was there. Ahh sweet little man! I started keeping him when he was just 2 and now we can carry on conversations, oh he just melts my heart. He started calling me "meme" awhile back so when we were getting in bed last night he said " meme can I sleep on your pillow too and sleep close because I love you" then the little angel said " I have a piggy bank meme i want to buy you something" ahh the little man melts my heart.
